Upgrading PSIcapture from version 3.6 to 5.4+


In order to properly upgrade PSIcapture from and older version to newer, and retain all document types, storage locations, batches, and other information, the Capture Server will need to be incrementally upgraded. The following procedure can assist you in upgrading from PSIcapture 3.6 to current builds. PSIcapture will need to be on version, and License Server will need to be on If you are a version below this, you will need to complete the upgrade process to these versions.

PSIcapture will need to be upgraded from > > > (latest build at time of this writing)

NOTE: Latest version of PSIcapture can be obtained from the Partner Portal, or by contacting PSIGEN Support. When Downloading Installation files ensure that they are unblocked. Right Click on installer and go to properties. Click the option to unblock. Also, ensure that all installers are run as administrator. You can complete this by right clicking the installer and choosing the option, "Run as Administrator".

  1. Ensure that PSI:Capture and License Server are working correctly in their respective versions. License Server will need to be running version and PSIcapture will need to be running before progressing to the next installation step. If not working PSIGEN Support will need access to the machine to troubleshoot issues.
  2. Uninstall License Server and PSIcapture
  3. Install version of PSIcapture. Ensure that while installing you select the License Server and PSIcapture as components to be installed. Ensure that License Server is working and that the License Server is available. Open the PSIcapture installation and ensure all Batch Manager and Document Types are available. Backup the C:\ProgramData\PSIGEN folder to another location and ensure it is named based on the version it was backed up from example: PSIGEN Backup. This will contain all Configuration and Batch Manager database data that our application will utilize.

  5. Install Version Ensure Product is working properly at this point as well. You may need to have the licenses reset by PSIGEN Support in order for this version to work. Ensure that you backup the C:\ProgramData\PSIGEN folder and name it based on the version you are backing up.

  7. Install the latest version of PSIcapture
